We are a local Reformed Baptist church, in Southern Maine, committed to the worship of the triune God and the ordinary means of grace. As a gathered body of believers, we seek to live faithfully under the authority of Scripture, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to grow together in holiness and love as Christ builds His church.

Evangelical

We are evangelical in the historic sense of the word. The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek word euangelion, meaning “good news,” and refers to the gospel of Jesus Christ revealed in the Scriptures. We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God, and that the gospel is God’s power for salvation to all who believe. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ stand at the center of our message, and the faithful proclamation of this gospel is essential to the life and mission of the church.

Reformed

We are Reformed, a term that refers to the stream of Christian faith that emerged from the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. Churches in this tradition sought to reform the church according to Scripture, recovering the centrality of God, the authority of the Bible, and the gospel of grace in Jesus Christ. To be Reformed is to understand God as sovereign, salvation as grounded in God’s initiative rather than human effort, and the Christian life as lived before God for His glory. This theological framework shapes how we read Scripture, worship, and understand the church.

Baptist

We are Baptist in our understanding of the church and its ordinances. Historically, Baptists have emphasized the authority of Scripture in shaping the life of the local church, the necessity of personal repentance and faith in Christ, and the gathering of churches made up of professing believers. Baptists have also held that baptism is reserved for those who confess faith in Christ, is administered by immersion, and serves as a visible sign of union with Him, and that local churches are to be ordered according to the teaching and practice of the New Testament.

Missions

We support the work of the gospel beyond our local church by partnering with faithful missionaries and ministries. As stewards of what the Lord has entrusted to us, we seek to support those who are laboring to proclaim Christ, strengthen His church, and train others in sound doctrine. We believe that God is pleased to work through the faithful proclamation of the gospel, using means such as missions to bring His people to Himself.

Papua New Guinea

Supporting the spread of the gospel through Bible translation and teaching, helping make the Scriptures accessible and understood among local communities.

Local Christian School

Supporting a local Christian school committed to providing biblically grounded education and assisting families in the training and instruction of their children.

New York (Retreat Ministry)

Supporting a ministry focused on teaching, fellowship, and encouraging believers through sound doctrine and the preaching of God’s Word.

We also continue to pray for several others whom we have had the opportunity to support over the years. Though our direct support may vary, we remain committed to remembering them before the Lord, asking that He would sustain their labor, bless the preaching of His Word, and use their efforts to gather and strengthen His people.
